Israel was apparently very successful in replanting trees in deserts, and recovering the land. Why was that not followed up on in other desert areas? That way we would have new rain forests and could recycle earth's lands which we are destroying.

lemme see.... stop driving my 6000 lb suv to macdonalds twice a day, or cover the desert with tinfoil; i guess i gotta go with the second one.
