Rashid Malik says: I think Firefox is the best browser. I don't know so much about that, Rashid, mine crashes every time there's an upgrade for an add-on. Also, I made the mistake of upgrading to 3.1 which is not compatible with the Real video downloader and so now I'm downloader-less. Also, when I exit Firefox and later wish to browse the net, I get a message saying that Firefox has not closed and I need to close it before re-opening. It's a nuisance. And to crown it all, assistance from Mozilla is not forthcoming. I'm seriously thinking of ditching it. Agreed michellezm! It is not the browser itself that I am hooked to but rather (as you mentioned) the wealth of plug ins that the community has so generously made for our pleasure and ease. I can never entertain the idea of ditching Firefox in favor of any of the present browsers (I recently uninstalled Google's browser from my system; just couldn't give up all the goodies that firefox brings in its wake). Anyway, what browser are you thinking about as a possible replacement for Firefox? There was some talk on Clipmarks about the new Chrome browser. If I can find the links to the clips I'll post them. Firefox is the only browser I've ever used. Although I do have Windows Explorer, I've never used it. It comes as a surprise to hear that other browsers don't have the add-ons, and yes, in that case I must say I cannot part with mine. I was brave enough to download them only recently and now they are indispensable. That comment of yours, michellezm, summarises the sentiments of Firefox users. Once a firefoxer always a firefoxer! There is no escape from this gravity pull. My son installed Firefox for me and after a few tweaks here and there it's working fine. What I'm having problems with is clipmarks. Sometimes I have no problem clipping and like now the orange lines are all over the place. I have other problems and have e-mailed clipmarks and as yet have never received an answer. I'm surprised that you haven't received an answer from Clipmarks, Tanya, because Egoldstein is always so on the ball. May I suggest you keep contacting them until you get a response. I sent an e-mail three or four days in a row, no response. I'm going to wait a bit and maybe catch them unawares. |
