Here in Santa Cruz, Ranger john Wallace has given more Sleep Crime tickets then all the City police officers combined. He now has a force of officers. They do not need Taser guns to do their job. The Police have killed people in jails, on the street and recently in the airport in Canada using a taser gun on a tired polish immigrant after he waited 10 hours with no translator after a 15 hour flight. These are OUR public lands, and OUR money being used to police them. The State is taking Authority beyond excess. An Authority Figure gives a person a direction, that if not followed, gives the 'Authority' the 'power' to take the person into custody, with whatever means are at their disposal. It isn't the chance of being tasered that bothers people. It's the expectation. One day some fool will taser a bear, and it will just piss the bear off. Then they'll shoot it because it has become dangerous. I have no faith in an Authority that is not only clearly insane, but appears to be particularly masochistic. It's not that we don't trust politicians, it is that they have been shown to be untrustworthy. We've got it all on tape. Here here ! Nice solid comment and I completely agree. But what to do? Its a fixed game that we all are forced in a way to play to some degree. How to you get an apathetic consumer driven public to wake up? I ask not really expecting an answer, becasue I know I dont have one. Direct action has become holding a candle and waiting for peace or even demanding it without anything to force the demand. Or marching with signs that really only preach to the choir. I know individuals who do allot in their little world, and if we all did that, change could happen, but I just dont see us moving that direction.
