What in the world does story this have to do with materialism ?

I guess we all hate to see an impressive success story like Oprah "go to the level of" every other brand capitalizing on itself with merchandising online and off. My first reaction was -- oh geez, I've respected her so far...

But giving it a second thought, she spends a tremendous amount of her fortune on starting, sustaining and spreading information about good works. I'd rather give her my dollar than most merchandisers that come to mind.
