While I trust the spirit of the bible ( some of the translations are questionable). I have no trust in modern advertising, whatever it's intention. If something is True, it should be repeated, it is False it should be forgotten. If there is doubt it should be considered, but not confirmed or denied until there is more known. If a product of man is untested or taken as a fact, it can create an assumption that is a distortion of the truth , due to the unquestioned inclusion in a rational argument. While a verse may have an immediately apparent meaning, it will always be subject to the state of mind of the reader, and the same verse can say many things, each true according to the context in which they are taken. While I may seem to be putting water on a fire, a fire that is fed with the wrong fuel, can get beyond our control. Too many people have suffered, because those who have claimed to proclaim the truth have dressed lies in fancy clothes, and have been taken at their word. The trouble with determining truth can be distinguishing between what is true, and what we want to be true. I've looked at the Bible, and while the middle may be interesting ( There was the rumor that the Gideons put Money in bibles to get people to look inside them-unconfirmed), without the introduction and the finale, the story can be a bit hard to follow.
