I still don't understand why people "comment' at any digg postings. Great clip, Sooners! Would love to see some pops or at least comments by some "progressive" clippers...not holding my breath though! That's why I prefer it here. You may not get as many pops with conservative topics, but at least they can't be buried by those who don't want to hear what you are saying. Actually, it is a plain fact that conservatives have problem accepting a fact that there are more liberals than conservatives, especially when it comes to internet. But you're right above that CM gives better democracy model then anyone else because there is no pop down. The above clip shows just that frustration by the right, so instead of accepting the fact, what you do is you blame the platform. This is certainly a challenging issue for open, community web sites such as digg and clipmarks. believe me, i worry about how people may (and sometimes do) try to game the system here. That said, I'm strongly against the idea of down votes. At one point, we considered offering "pop" or "drop" options on clips. But to me, the down/drop option is like being able to vote against a candidate in an election...just doesn't work that way. The way you vote against one thing is to vote for (pop) another. Good clip n2sooners. This is the left that buys the unfairness doctrine. So incredibly disingenuous. As for POPS, Clipmarks has the same issues. Several on the right have commented about it. But I think the Clipmarks system is fair. The right is just outnumbered here. It's good to hear EG that the "pop" or "drop" option has been "dropped" ( for now anyway ). If Conservatives outnumbered Leftists I am sure it would be considered again and probably implemented. If Conservatives outnumbered Leftists I am sure it would be considered again and probably implemented.I highly doubt. As Eric said, "just doesn't work that way". Seems you don't believe him, huh? I guess I do believe him. It is just that the realities of opinion are rather strong. Sometimes people cannot stick to their ideals. And speaking of more leftist diggers and clippers, I have been to digg lately and I have yet to spend a day without clipmarks, and I have not seen a day go by without seeing a Muslim bashing or left bashing on both of these sites. Just refresh digg every few hours and there's an anti-Muslim post showing up for you at the front page, same has been happening a lot at Clipmarks. These are all the reflections of the society at large, do we see any protest against the platform? Actually, it is a plain fact that conservatives have problem accepting a fact that there are more liberals than conservatives, especially when it comes to internet.I accept that there are more childish leftists that have nothing better to do than patrol Digg trying to stifle any posts and posters they disagree with. That's just more of Arifsali's bigotry. I haven't seen very many "muslim Bashing" clips, but Arifsali loves to Christian-bash. Arifsali is very selective in his perceptions. Actually arifsal, I cannot get my conservative friends to participate at Clipmarks. They think it is silly. I tell them it is fun and a good way to examine people's thinking, test your own ideas, and learn about things you would never see otherwise. They say it is a waste of time. They have families, not as much free time as me, and they do not prioritize this type of diversion. Your idea that there are more liberals than conservatives is hilarious, but doesn' t surprise me. I could just see this ad couldn't you? [quo... Actually arifsal, I cannot get my conservative friends to participate at Clipmarks.Actually, I feel silly sometimes. Don't I have anything better to do? The answer of course is yes. After reading this, I am going to promptly remove Digg from my computer. Thanks for the posting. A Farewell to DIGG, DIGG was cool for a little while because it started as a technology blog like slashdot, only with the awesome added value/feature of the users being the editors, essentially deciding what's on the main page of the site. Then it got too popular, don't get me started on how much WIRED sucks now, and the admins/creators got a little too greedy. Infact, so greedy that they wouldn't release their voting system and or code to anyone, they still won't, but they are going to sell the whole backend programming package to the highest of bidders. In a growing open source community, and with a "democratic" voting system, this capitalist monopolist ideal seemed fishy as best. Inst... Arifsali commented: The above clip shows just that frustration by the right, so instead of accepting the fact, what you do is you blame the platform.I think the Digg platform is the problem. It may be a fair representation of what interests the majority over at Digg, but it alienates everyone else. The lack of a "drop" button at Clipmarks keeps a positive feeling here, at least for me. I think therealdonquixote said it succintly: because now DIGG is nearly useless for the seekers of knowledge, and how does that benefit the minority user (casual or not)? I see many clips that interest me here and many that do not. But at least I get to see the... but Arifsali loves to Christian-bashChallenge from Arifsali: find any Christian-bashing clips/pops from Arifsali. You are sure to loose. wilhelm, you indeed don't have anything better to do then concot wrong perceptions of others. You're right. I'm just a Christo-fascist. ( according to one of your clips ). |
