I don't buy into the "Jews killed Jesus" claptrap, but man, some people are just plain stupid.

"So what did we learn here? A Jewish-Israeli attack on the holy figures of Christianity provoked outrage among Muslims as well as Christians, and was denounced by Palestinian-Israelis (20% of the population) as racist and as anti-Semitic.

One background for this Palestinian-Israeli response is that the crucified Christ is often taken by Palestinian Christians as a symbol of their displacement and expropriation at the hands of Israelis. So the attack on that symbol ('died young of being obese') by a representative of the Jewish majority was doubly painful, since it repeated on a symbolic level the Israeli denial of the 1948 Catastrophe and even of the existence of the Palestinians. My thoughts on the Israel/Hamas redundancy is not popular on the Internet. They have been going through this for so long and it's encompassed every single country. Right now it's not popular to side with Israel. I side with neither and while most side with Palestine, I remember that they do not appreciate this country in any way, shape or form. Women are secondary to men, and the 1993 bombing of the towers was done by one of their countrymen, If you'll remember, we were once friendly with Osama Bin Laden too, supplying him with weapons. Wouldn't it be nice to take that back? As far as Spirituality goes, the Muslim religion isn't all that different from Christianity. Of course, that's IMO.

I can understand where you're coming from. But I tend to side with the people of both sides, not their corrupt war exploiting leaders.

That's exactly what I mean. It's not one side or the other. The people are suffering and we only know what we're allowed to know. Propagandizing just puts a halt to any real info. I have to check out an Israeli paper as well as a Palestinian site to get anything about what's going on with the people there. And even then....
