I found this awhile back and am glad I rediscovered it, thanx to a comment by Enrique Flouret @ Lifehacker: Filter Forge is one kickass, uber-Swiss army knife of plugins. It has all sorts of eye-popping effects, and lets you MAKE YOUR OWN!

The visual quality's intensely high, and since I love creating textures, I've started playing with it. Looks like there's a small-but-growing community devoted to FF, and if it keeps expanding at this rate, there'll be massive popularity ahead as word gets out.

The final version is a commercial product, but according to the site, you can get Filter Forge for free by contributing popular, high-quality filters. The thrust of user-powered content is consistent with my passion for Clipmarks and Second Life.
