bferman says: This must be one of those Democrat cost cutting measures. Force a 6 month wait and maybe you'll have less uninsurable people to insure. This actually makes sense. It may outrage some people, but without some type of waiting period, what incentive would there be for a healthy person to carry health insurance at all? Who said anything about forcing healthy people to wait 6 months for insurance? Ah, I see what you're saying now... No one wants to wait, so get it while you're healthy and don't have a wait. If there was no wait, why carry insurance? If you have a heart attack, call the insurance company on the way to a hospital and get covered. If you are diagnosed with cancer just go out and get a policy and you couldn't be denied. I had questioned that before because I could see a total collapse of the insurance system if there was no preexisting condition clause of some type. I've been hearing about a plan with a "High-Risk" insurance pool. I think that's a Republican idea, but not sure on the details. |
