Clipmarks becoming a very cool reference source on palaeontology and dinosaurs. Check the tags and see many interesting articles and news stories. It's exciting to see how we are building a huge library of categorized information here together. (Just checked the dino clips and was amazed.)

This gives some help to understanding that the platypus did have ancestors.

I found this today, and clipped it. You beat me by 12 hours, but it's a great Dinosaur. If you're going to find a new dinosaur it might as well be different. I thought of a platypus, and then saw the nostril. I thought it may have stayed in the water to keep safe, and support it's weight, and went deeper and evolved into whales. They don't really look that close on the tree of life, but it's been a while, plenty of time for change. I suppose there is more to being a whale, than having a nostril in the right place, but it's a start.
I wonder if Whales ever laid eggs ?
