On my last clip, I was told the source of the clip was not reliable. This the Telegraph. I guess I will be told this one is not reliable either and is another "scare" tactic. I guess any news that is not "pro-Obama" is a scare tactic.

The article is about a new generation of nurses, not the health care plan. What is being described is pure apathy, which is being felt pretty much the world over these days. Nice try, but no.

Obamas proposed reform may be similar in principle but it is very different in the details and implementation. I suggest you read the various healthcare reform components that have been spread through out differentr executive orders like at the end of the stimulus package etc. Do some research

personally, i don't understand why jay8h seems to think that people who are ALREADY insured won't stay that way (unless they lose their jobs, of course), and how ensuring everyone has basic coverage will change things for the privately insured. it's not like there are billions of people hiding out there-- the same amount of people will continue to seek health care...right...? even the privately insured have to wait in their doctors' waiting rooms, right? am i missing something, or am i just getting past the first 20 words of any given reading material on this issue?

Despite the warts, the English health care system is still 1000% better than the crap we have in the USA.

This is true according to every objective comparison.

It is not the same as the UK system!!

Why won't people understand that?

Read the available info. Don't just blindly believe what you watch on the idiot box. Do some research.

Oh, it is not the same as the English. Our nurses will be upstanding and would never do anything like this. We must be special people and the English are wicked I guess.

Folks no matter how you look at it, a government run system is going to have the same principles as the English and Canadian system . There will be no incentive to compete just as in any socialist program. That is why they are having problems with nurses in England. Look at other government programs and see how inefficient they work.

busmom, there is no way that the inclusion of the additional 20% added to the system plus a bloated bureaucracy is going to be able to deliver the same level of care as the people insure...

In addition, our health care system is only affordable by 80% + of this country who receive the best medical care in the world,
what is your source for these statements please?

they want to ditch this system to go to an inferior system where they can wait endlessly for treatment, stand in lines for injections, and sit for hours in waiting rooms to see a doctor.
and your source here as well.

there is no way that the inclusion of the additional 20% added to the system plus a bloated bureaucracy is going to be able to deliver the same level of care as the people insured today. With the same number of doctors and nurses plus many new patients with free h...

Busmom, unless one lives in a vacuum, the sources are in the news everyday as in this article I clipped. I have a better question, where are you getting your information that says socialized health care will be an improvement?

too bad; i was hoping to have an actual discussion-- all i can say at this point is i read all sources, not just left or right slanted opinion pieces that amount to nothing more than propaganda.

we live in a country that already makes use of what you call socialized services (police, fire and public schools come to mind), and my life experience as one of the "working poor" tells me that anything we do as a country to provide health care for all will probably be an improvement...so let us agree to disagree.

busmom, we actually agree in two things, one is "just left or right slanted opinion pieces that amount to nothing more than propaganda." The other is "so let us agree to disagree. "

It was nice debating with. At least you did not call me any names. Thanks
