alanocu says: "In 1941 the National Park Service commissioned noted photographer Ansel Adams to create a photo mural for the Department of the Interior Building in Washington, DC. The theme was to be nature as exemplified and protected in the U.S. National Parks. The project was halted because of World War II and never resumed." I included the entire set, so the clip is REALLY long. - you may want to view when you have more time. At the source page, you can download any of these photos in much higher resolution. I scaled them all to 500 px wide for the clipmark. Thanks. beautiful scenery I've often wondered how his photography would have looked in technicolor - (I'm kind of a color snob) But black and white imagery is Ansel's signature. It's beautiful just the way it is. Stunning pix. Tks Alan. I consider myself so fortunate to have visited a number of the places photographed (Grand Canyon, Grand Tetons, Mesa Verde, Yellowstone, Yosemite, Carlsbad Caverns, Glacier and Zion National Parks) Their beauty will forever be etched on my mind. |
