egoldstein says: yes! I do, say, I do.... hallelujah!! This is something that I have been hoping to hear. I have been real selective with how i spend my money for years, because I do NOT A) trust the man B)like the quality C)need it. D) want to put it on credit Peer to peer in the computer age of course is awhole different thing than eye-to-eye, though. I like the hope in this idea but.... "No longer is word of mouth merely a powerful tool, it is quickly becoming the only trusted source of information." I thought I had bookmarked an article I read in the last year, about ordinary people who become like 'agents' for companies, shills. They don't get much money, if any, maybe some free product but they are recruited because they LIKE the product. Their "job?" They hang out in coffe houses, laid back places or other product appropriate places and just happen to strike up conversations with people about the product. The article talked about a few people who got excited about the product then learned that the friendly person was an 'agent... It depends on what you mean by "consumer" in the first place, though. Think about all the things you consume that you don't ever really put any conscious thought into - like energy, for example, or maybe financing for your home, or staple foods, water, or transportation. How much active agency do you really adopt with regard to those things, which are really the mainstays of most modern economies when you think about it? |
