oh yay, the smirt people of the world critiquing Americans...well isn't that special.....

I tell ya what smirt people, once you come up with the vaccines, the medical advances, the technology, the everything that has come out of America that has made us so damn dumb, then you can brag about the size of your damn brains.

America haters can suck it.

Sorry Clip on but this was written by an American and as far as the vaccines and medical advances, etc. you can shove them all for me. Vaccines are more harmful than beneficial and most of the chemical "advances" are harming our health. Oh by the way I don't HATE America, I just want Americans to have a good life with good health services and decent human rights for ALL, not just the chosen few.

Beyond that, we need to wake up and realize that one of the keys to our
nation’s historic success is now a wasting asset. Education made
America great
; neglect of education can reverse the process.
What part of that didn't you understand, clip-on? Does that not recognize past achievements? It's simple. It's a warning. "Use it, or lose it."

The past couple generations of Americans have been conditioned to deride and be mistrustful of learning, which is exactly the opposite of the traditional image of the founders. Richard Hofstadter wrote a landmark 1964 book, # Anti-intellectualism in American Life (ISBN 0-394-70317-0), which gives a history of these trends. Entertainer and philosopher Steve Allen called it "Dumbth" and also wrote a book with that title. I despair for this country even as I hope for better.

We had a similar thing (still do) in Spain, known as "pasotismo" but times has shown that one needs education to get on in the world and things are not too bad here and maybe the same will happen in the US when people begin to see the light.
