The darling of the Right takes on the Saddam hanging!

Being far to the left of just about anyone still living on this planet I have never been much of a fan of Mr. Hitchens. However in the past I have seen flashes of brilliance emanating from his too often glib mouth..

In this case though I have been more than a bit pleasantly surprised by his take on the fumbling disaster.

A tip of the hat to you Christopher.

His descent into "rum-sodden popinjay" (or whatever it was) has been sad to watch. He must have found a little spine somewhere.

I've always thought its use as a negative term such a waste of the wonderfully lyrical "popinjay". I'd love to be a popinjay otherwise.
