sounds stupid. like one big opportunity to promote his book. to me, the belief (or lack thereof) in god is 100% a spiritual thing...anyone that is trying to prove it based on fact doesn't get the concept in my opinion. But it's the rating's sweeps time, Eric. Who cares if it makes sense? It'll make money! Fancy not using a book, supposedly written by illiterate fishermen, to prove the existence of the supernatural. Pity there is no date etc for a listen. Guess the new found fame has made him forgetful. Q Are there many evangelist women? Time etc a few clips down. I think ABC is setting up Comfort and Cameron. ABC did a story on the [url=http://www.rationalresponders.com/]Rational Response Squad[/url[ (the other party in the debate) about their Blasphemy Challenge. After that show, the ABC website had to biggest increase of subscribers ever. Besides Comfort and Cameron are bringing a banana. Oh, Glory, this does not bode well for 'our' side. It's going to be a massacre! There isn't a Christian amongst us who can PROVE TO ANYONE that God exists - no one can. God has never 'proved' His existence to the masses, only to the individual. That is the whole point of faith. The biblical definition being: "faith is the substance of things HOPED FOR and the evidence of things NOT YET SEEN". Darn, I wish they wouldn't do this. It's just going to get nasty all round. Of course there's a god. I mean, granted...Yahweh likes to pretend he's the only one, but lets not forget the elohim. Besides if there was no god would I be here?? Didn't he make me from the mud, just like adam??? Adam's loss and my gain, that he just insisted on that darn missionary position. He was hot, too. Oh well. The big guy forgot about me when my sis, eve, gave our hubby that fruit, too. And what does she get? Loses her innocence and ends up dead. Me...I am eternal. (and havin' a blast!) Clip on christian soldiers!!! Oh, Glory, this does not bode well for 'our' side.It will be interesting to see them try. I'd be terribly impressed if they can pull it off. So will I Wiccantexan! I'd be floored. No one can 'exhibit' God. No one can 'exhibit' God.Sadly enough, that's the argument used when we talk about the Divine as God/Goddess. And the Bible is used as "historical fact" to show otherwise. Yet, there really is no tangible way to "prove" the existence of the Divine in any context. Any real proof is personal, an individual experience with God that cannot be physically shown. It's within the soul, and not physical. Yet, spiritual people (from any religion) KNOW, without any doubt, that they have connected with something profoundly Divine. "Yet, there really is no tangible way to "prove" the existence of the Divine in any context. Any real proof is personal, an individual experience with God that cannot be physically shown. It's within the soul, and not physical". Yes, yes, yes. That's what I was trying to say but you articulated it perfectly. Thank you. I know that I know, that I know, He exists because I have PERSONALLY experienced Him. But that is purely a subjecitve experience. It cannot be proved. It's a matter of the individual heart and God alone. There is no objective, tangible evidence for His existence. One can deduce there is a creator from His creation, but that is not conclusive proof. Nicely said, Wiccantexan Friendly Atheist The debate between Kirk Cameron/Ray Comfort (Christians) and Brian/Kelly (atheists) was taped last night. You won’t be able to see it until Wednesday (on ABC News Now, online, at 2:00 p.m. (EST) and on Nightline, televised, at 11:35 p.m. (EST)). But Brian Sapient did make a few comments to me about how it went down:
