BartendingBear says: One phrase sums it up for me... anti-American. I'd like to see the Pro Bush crowd provide their list of his accomplishments that will give Bush a positive legacy. I am honestly astounded that there are still people out there that think positively of Bush and his administration. Self-delusion is a powerful force. What will GWB's leagacy be? One phrase sums it up for me... anti-American.I think we actually agree, Bartender. However, think about how this "anti-American" legacy will be viewed in the context of history that has yet to unfold. Think about 50, 60, 80, 100 years in the future. Now, I grant you that my opinion is based on some assumptions, but so is everyone's opinion when we speculate about things like this. Though, I strongly oppose Bush, and believe he could be remembered as the President that destroyed America, I also believe it is highly plausible that he will be viewed as one of the greatest President's in history from an international standpoint. The goundwork of the ... In my opinion, unless there is some movement back toward Constitutional principles and a more incremental mindset, then Bush's legacy will be positive. If, however, there is a period of American and European libertarian revival his legacy will be similar to W. Wilson, except possibly more negative. Well said dollface, for all of us who have to put up with Georgie Porgie around the world. Is Canada benefiting by the decreased value of the American dollar? If so, then he wasn't all bad for the rest of the world ... What Will George W. Bush's Legacy Be?Should be a Wiser American Voter MISSION ACCOMPLISHED or Driving over the toes of dead US servicemen's mothers at Crawford, Texas. Cindy Sheehan? I agree with Dollface Our PM does what ever Bush wants. Malignant narcissism! Bear I agree, anti-American - all of the neocons fit that description. |
