Funny, the article lists twenty-five other hedge fund managers who were smart enough to recognize a bubble market when they see one.

Why didn't you call them despicable Marxists.

Since when have conservatives been against making money?

You all are a riot.

He never said he was happy that people are suffering. What he said is that being able to manage his investments, using his investment principles, allowed him to earn money while others could not (after all anyone can make money when the markets are rising).

The "marxist" speaks:
GEORGE SOROS:No. No, no, no. Hopefully, capitalism will survive. But the sort of period where America could actually, for instance, run ever increasing current account deficits. We could consume, at the end, six and a half percent more than we are producing. That has come to an end.

GEORGE SOROS: You see, for the last 25 years the world economy, the motor of the world economy that has been driving it was consumption by the American consumer who has been spending more than he has been saving, all right? These market fundamentalists are making the same mistake as Marx did.

The Daily Mail recently published an article with the following fabricated quote, which has spread over the Internet: “'I'm having a very good crisis,' says Soros as hedge fund managers make billions off recession.” The Mail article was bylined “Mail Foreign Service” and did not cite a source for the alleged quote. In fact the Mail’s made up “quote” was a reworded version of the headline an article published a week earlier in The Australian. The title of that article by Peter Wilson was “George Soros interview: A very good crisis.” The first line of that story is “George Soros is having a very good crisis," Wilson’s words, not Soros’s. Nowhere does Soros say, “I’m having a very good crisi...

Isync--I'd say merrie was a bit uninformed in her opinion that Soros is a marxist. After seeing the quotes I provided and your proof that he never said the words attributed to him, let's hope she changed her mind.

The point here is that if Soros backed every right-wing cause on the planet you guys would be screaming "capitalist-pig".

However, because he indeed contributes millions if not billions to organizations such as the radical moveon.org , etc. he is hailed as a"compassionate" champion.

The stench from this hypocrisy is stifling.

If Soros backed every right-wing cause on the planet then he would be benefiting from an economic collapse that he helped perpetuate and then yes I would be screaming "You're a Moron along the lines of people like Phil Gramm (who was going to be McCain's economic advisor)".

However, George Soros advocates taxing the rich at a higher level than the poor and the middle class.

I've never been against people making money in an ethical way and paying taxes. Therefore I can't be against George Soros being a savvy investor. Warren Buffet also supports the rich paying higher taxes.

The stench of your ignorance is overwhelming.
