Darwinism is bunk. However, evolution is not. We should not confuse the two in the same way that some misunderstand creationism. If one has faith in God, then it is incumbent on us to face truth wherever it lies. Christians always have and the scientific tradition began _because_ of those of faith, not in spite of. We, the faithful, are the ones holding fidelity to the scientific method even to this day, while ignorant alarmists choose to believe in chicken-little fairy-tales like global warming. Yes- it is very easy to misuse the terms, given that both sides of the argument use evolution and Darwinism interchangeably... Anyone seen Ben Stein's Expelled documentary? It.. its worth a watch. I always agreed with Ben's view... isn't science was about proposing a hypothesis?... about finding facts to support your hypothesis? The idea of change over time is not the same as evolution is it? I think most everyone will admit that people change over time to adjust to a particular environment. The simplest things cannot evolve by added energy. Bags of cement and bars of steel do not become skyscrapers by shaking them violently around with water and electricity or any other type of power - how much less could something as complex as even the simplest living organism? Even simple things like cooking dinner could nev... yes, we all should beware of that Joe. Yes, I did see the movie- it was wonderfully put together. change over time happens- yes we all can agree on that. And there is much we just don't know and possibly never will know... It is the idea that Darwinism is an unchallengeable "fact" that most irritates me... it has actually become more like a religion than science! Some transitional fossils (thanks freewheelin franklin) Kenichthys, Osteolepis, Eusthenopteron, Sterropterygion, Panderichthys, Elpistostege, Hynerpeton, Acanthostega, Ichthyostega, Hynerpeton, Pholidogaster, Pteroplax, Dendrerpeton, Archegosaurus, Eryops, Trematops, Amphibamus, Doleserpeton, Triadobatrachus, Vieraella, Karaurus, Limnoscelis, Tseajaia, Solenodonsaurus, Hylonomus, Paleothyris, Captorhinus, Scutosaurus, Deltavjatia, Proganochelys, Hylonomus, Paleothyris, Petrolacosaurus, Araeoscelis, Apsisaurus, Claudiosaurus, Planocephalosaurus, Protorosaurus, Prolacerta, Proterosuchus, Hyperodapedon, Trilophosaurus, Paleothy... the term transitional surely is cannot be a scientific term - a transitional fossil could support no more truth than would a disfigured human skeleton, a child skeleton, nor would a dwarf skeleton tell us we all came from short people. I would not suppose scientists could really jump to that conclusion. Even with very large words, and large numbers and confusing the length of prehistoric history... it still only proves that people can't admit that they just dont know. Different fossils does not prove something very important - we have a wonderful variety of animals. We still see a variety today, if evolution in the scientific sense were true - shouldnt weaker species have died out? Surely ... If we came from another animal there would be could be no more existence of that animal. Apes would not exist. This is a fallacious argument - evolutionary theory has never claimed that humans evolved from apes but that apes and man have a common ancestor. I have (human) cousins, but I am not descended from them - we are both descended from a grandparent somewhere further up the family tree - perhaps with a few "greats" attached. Furthermore, evolution claims that change is prompted by a need to adapt to an envoronmental niche. It is assumed that humanity's ancestors left the environment that gave rise to apes and were required to adapt to the needs of their new niche. [qu... Jorjor, there is no truth in anything joe says. He has not been given the chance to learn about this topic, as reflected in the questions. I am not sledging you joe, just pointing out the appalling education system that has let you down. Get into the books man and find out how much nature offers that we can enjoy. So much knowledge to be added to our person. Can dinosaurs have existed 65 million years ago, if the world began 6000 years ago. The only thing to fear is the sky falling. If we came from another animal there would be could be no more existence of that animal. Apes would not exist. There's at least one example of a living ancestor. |
