When faced with the possibility of success in Iraq, the democrat plan is to surrender faster. Success is NOT an option.

I thought the Republicans said we had achieved success in Iraq. Exactly when will the success be enough to start withdrawing non-vital troops? Only 1000 people are fighting? 100? When there is absolutely no fighting at all? The Brits are about to pull out almost all of their troops. We will be basically the only ones left there. I don't think some of you hard-ultra-conservatives will be happy until there is no one left alive on either side.

Do you really think God wants our side to win? Theirs? I don't profess to know God's thinking on the matter, but if I was a betting woman, I'd put money on the fact that He frowns on his children going around trying to slaughter each other, no matter what their ilk.

We haven't achieved success in Iraq, but the new tactics are working. The democrat plan seems to be the same no matter what the conditions are on the ground, 'run away.' We are succeeding and we are starting to draw down troops in those areas where they are no longer needed. We should let the general who was approved unanimously call the shots instead of trying to legislate military strategy. He has proven he can bring about success so we should stay the hell out of his way and let him succeed. Seems to me the democrats in congress want to do everything in their power to guarantee failure simply out of spite for Bush. The general came up with a plan that is working, lets just give him a chance to finish it.

Uhh. You apparently just ignored my whole post.

Additionally, ALL THE TOP MILITARY BRASS HAS SAID THERE IS NO MILITARY SOLUTION to the situation. The war is over. We'll never get rid of ALL the terrorists around the world, if that's what you think is going to be the ultimate outcome. In fact, We'll never get rid of all of them in Iraq, either. They'll come from neighboring countries to Iraq, because that's where the Americans are. We've done what we started out to do. Get rid of Saddam. We can't stay in Iraq forever and babysit their government while they fight among themselves. We'd never get out of there. We need to hold them to their promises to get their shi-ite together. We agreed t...

Are you even aware of what is happening in Iraq right now? We ARE winning. We ARE turning the tide. We are driving the terrorists out of Baghdad as we speak. Of course, the military can't do it alone. The politicians over there need to get on the ball. But the military is a necessary part of the solution because the political solution can NEVER take place without security.

We are driving back the terrorists. We are winning over the locals who are now securing their own country. And the general in charge has said the draw down of troops will begin sooner than expected. But that isn't enough for the democrats. They won't be happy unless they can speed things up enough to guarantee failure in Iraq, and all just to spite Bush.

Hudgal - I think most Americans including myself want the war in Iraq to end and the killing to stop. I've not met one Republican that WANTS our soldiers to die. In fact, most of the folks I know want just the opposite. However we realize that if we leave too soon many, many Iraqis will die and sooner or later the bad guys will come to American soil realizing we have no stomach for a long protracted war against them.

We can debate whether we should have gone into Iraq or not in the first place. But that is for the history books. The war today is for our future, like how it began or not, we must finish the job with victory.

The end for the US soldiers will come when the Iraqis can p...

Sorry, sweetie, but if you think we're in this to save the poor citizens of Iraq, you're very naive.
