Tamir, lid van de Arbeidspartij, heeft dat dinsdag gezegd.</P><P>Ze wil met de maatregel het historisch bewustzijn van de Israëlische jeugd bevorderen. Tamir wees er in de dinsdageditie van de krant Haaretz op dat in verscheidene schoolboeken de grenzen van voor 1967 niet zijn ingetekend. Schoolkinderen denken daardoor dat de Westelijke Jordaanoever formeel een onderdeel van Israël is, aldus Tamir.</P><P>Het parlementslid Ronit Tirosh, lid van de partij Kadima van premier Ehud Olmert, zei dat Tamir niet het recht had om op eigen houtje opdracht te geven voor wijzigingen in schoolboeken.
