And I thought only crosses would be banned (Star of David is OK--just no crosses

The problem today is every swingin' d*ck on the planet is just waiting to be offended by something....

Sad......

I heard a few cases of home owner associations not allowing you to even fly the American flag. Glad they don't have one of those nut job groups here.

The subdivision’s rules say no signs, billboards or advertising are permitted without the consent of the architectural control committee.

These committees ban all sorts of things, as is stated above. You sign agreements when moving in. I would never live in such places. They're for the herd mentality types.

The wreath is not the issue. Under the Homeowners Assoc. covenants, you cannot display anything outside be it a wreath, American Flag, or any other object.
I personally prefer a covenant controlled neighborhood. Then I don't have to look at my neighbors junk car sitting in the drive way, there weeds that grow 3 feet tall and all the other things that bring down the value of my property.
If you sign the agreement then you should keep your part of it. If you don't like the covenant, then do not buy.

Um, if i pay $500,000 for a home, I decorate it how ever the hell I want. (if I pay $50,000 for a home I'll decorate it however i want too... )

so much for freedom

What about the freedom of those who want to live in these ridiculous places? You have the freedom to live elsewhere.

Ha, GD,
Everyone in my neighborhood has the freedom to decorate how they please and half the street looks like the Simpson's at Christmas time. (No accounting for taste, lol)

I much prefer the chaos of individual expression to the oppressive nature of imposed sameness.
