All Americans hope that .... let us wait and see. When the equivalent happened in Northern Ireland it was the beginning of the end of "the troubles". Exactly JohnWaterman. I'd say Obama will be more serious and more honest in his dealing with the Israeli-Palestinian and Middle East issues. Don't hope for "perfection," though. Number One: Not everybody agrees on what is perfect and Number Two, Obama is just one man and the country remains in the grip of pro-Zionists politicians and lobbyist. If we really want to stop uncritical pro-Zionist policies than we have to stop electing pro-Zionist politicians; and that's not going to be easy or happen overnight. But ---Electing Obama was sure electing a better leader than the alternative, a much better leader: one who seems to have some brains, some heart and some integrity. [And the fact of him being Afro-Americ... Great news and it's the only way forward! |
