While Hargreaves says it would be easy to use a chain or <A title="belt drive" href="http://www.bentrideronline.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2008/11/belt-dr1.jpg">belt drive</A>, his prototype was designed to feature an internal hydraulic system which uses oil pumped through tubes in the frame to power the back wheel.
