If YOU are one of them . . CONGRATULATIONS! You might want to share this with others who have had the luck to grow up as kids, before the lawyers and the government regulated so much of our lives for our own good……

And while you are at it, forward it to your kids so they will know how brave (and lucky) their parents were.

love this- made me smile.. bottom line is, it seems like the value system of pure 'naturalness' gets worse with each generation...
while reading this, it did make me wish i was a kid again!

Excellent clip.........I, too, have made it through those decades and have had many pleasant experiences with falling down breaking bones and teeth and lived to talk about it. We normally got up ate breakfast went outside to play around
8:30am and didn't go back home until around supper time.

I, too, wish I could be a kid again. We had such a good time being kids.

The icing on the cake for me is seeing Diapers these days that make kids not even realise they have pissed themselves, so they blissfully grow up not knowing that pissing themselves is not a good thing.

I remember when the only seat belt I had was my Dad's arm ejecting across me when he slammed on the brakes!

The diaper thing is funny. I found an old diaper pin in a drawer and my grand-daughter had no clue as to what it was...even after I said "diaper pin"!

My brother and our cousins were sitting around talking about this recently. How did we ever survive our childhood?! We did some miraculously dangerous and stupid things in our youth. It's a wonder one of us isn't blind in one eye. I try to remember that when I start being overly cautious with my own daughter.

Hey; we ended a stupid war, booted out a bad president, and ended the mandatory wearing of girdles by healthy, athletic high school girls. Not a bad track record.

Not to mention improving the state of popular music, which has not been surpassed since.

That was a good clip. My dad talks about things like that all the time one of my favorites where. Kids today would never make it back then. We didn't have a bus to pick us up right in front of the house we had to walk to school for miles with no shoe's on in the cold and hot and by the time we got there we had blisters on our feet. I can hear him saying it now. I love hearing those stories. Thanks that brought back memories.

OMG this is great! I have to say the diaper pin story is a little scary. Right up there with dialing a phone, i'd say. How many kids know how to do that! I suddenly have a craving for some silly putty, a sllinky and a chocolate Popsicle.

Oh chocolate popsicles! How about Fizzies? Anyone remember them? Pedal-pushers? Jan & Dean? That great Alka-Seltzer commercial? (no matter what shape your stomach is in)

But then we haven't seen the results of this generations yet. Things are getting a bit big and impersonal tho aren't they. But if you're complaining about the present day and the state of affairs, who is responsible? Wouldn't it be the kids that "survived the 60's + 70's"? These good old days were provided by the golden generation, the fathers and mothers of the baby boomers. But today we're overly litigious, we're destroying the environment, we go to war for no reason and our reputation as one of the finest nations on earth is being destroyed. Certainly your generation has produced some greats but if your going to rag on the state of affairs remember what generation got us here. And ...

Were we complaining?? Hmmm...I didn't see any complaining. I thought this was fun.

But now I think I will. This generation has the greatest potential of all the previous ones and what does it ask? "we would appreciate some help."

I just remembered the first time my 3-year-old saw a phone with a cord. She was so confused. haha. Ah, the days where you had to stay in one place to use the phone.

no technology can take away the beautiful experiences that are locked safely away in our hearts, and one look at such an article, all the tender moments of the past comes crawling out!..

In retrospect, I really don't know what the hell I was talking about. Altho I do believe the world needs some help, nobody was complaining. Sorry I messed up your nostalgia guys, there was no reason for it. Peace.

Altho I do have to say the my responder that it wasn't my whole generation asking for help, it was just me.

Again tho I find myself being critical and I don't think that'll produce the results I'm looking for. Does anyone have any suggestions on communication here?
