Ever wanted a good overall summary of what second life is? This video is the result of a masters degree project that reviewed the corporate and educational opportunities in Second Life.

Some things have changed in Second Life but the question still remains, what is it's value to corporate America. Most companies who are in second life today that were there 1 year ago when this video was authored are basically in the same position. The corporate world has not embraced social networking in a substantial way. Some technology firms are on the bleeding edge but non-technology firms are still not there yet. If they're not embracing wikis they're probably not going to load a fully 3D based virtual role playing application to have their meetings. More to come on this and I'll be watching.
