"Mr. Sada's comments come just more than a month after Israel's top general during Operation Iraqi Freedom, Moshe Yaalon, told the Sun that Saddam "transferred the chemical agents from Iraq to Syria." This has been reported since the very first weeks of the move into Iraq from many foreign sources and even from some within our Intelligence community. As the trial of Saddam proceeds (will it ever?), the millions of documents, files, bits of information taken from Iraq are analyzed, and those in the know (such as this man) begin to reveal the truth, our Congress and certain politicians are going to look pretty stupid. Here is David Corn on these allegations: "...the reports of David Kay and Charles Duelfer said there had been no WMDs to hide away in Syria or any place else. So the recent claim made by a former Iraqi Air Force official--that two former Iraqi pilots (whom he won't identify) told him about prewar flights that ferried WMDs to Syria--is hardly anything to take to the bank. (The guy is selling a book.)" http://www.davidcorn.com/archives/2006/02/no_retreat_no_s.php I'll take the word of someone who was there, the Israelis, the British intelligence and reports that came out almost immediately after the military movement into Iraq. I heard it within the week....not on CNN though. Not necessarily that of so-called UN inspectors. As the original post said, there are so many documents and reports to analyze and research. Those who would believe that the US was acting imperialistically, always will and will never accept any information from the 'other' sources. I don't believe they're still going on with those lies. Now they are in Syria. How convenient. Next story we'll hear they are in Iran, and of course that's a reason enough to attack Iran. Then what ? A dozen more wars while chasing those ghost WMD around the world, tavelling to Korea, Venezuela, Cuba, France, Germany, Russia.... ? jatfla, FYI, David Kay and Charles Duelfer were not UN inspectors. They were the heads of the US Iraq Survey Team, and they indeed were there in Iraq trying desperately to find WMD. It's like the cartoon show -- "where in the world is Carmen San Diego" except we are playing "Where in the world are the WMD" j...thank you for clarifying that for me. I was wrong in their job description and association. However, I will stick with my basic premise. I DO remember reading that, at the beginning of the movement into Iraq, that the military had satellite photos of convoys moving from Iraq to Syria. It was on the news. Of course there was no way (at least to us) that we know what was in those convoys. But the World knew they were there; the issue is where did they go? Ever read Stephen Hayes? Excellent work of connecting the dots. And he's a whole lot smarter than I am. google him. i still think that saddam is a clown - like for a kids party & meanwhile ... back at reality some OTHER thing is going on he's a decoy for even worse nastyness jatfla, Denial ain't a river in Egypt. Sometimes we need to hang-up what we wish due to the overwhelming evidence of what is. This can be really hard to do, especially when one has made an emotional commitment to an outcome. But like Sting says, if you want to keep something, set it free. |
