Socratoad
Reminds me of the somewhat dated, but very apt expression: apathy apathy everywhere, but who gives a damn.

It seems like I've been
harping on the fragility of these economic times for about 18 months
now. I've seen many of the actions taken by the Bush administration
(Paulson) as intentional affronts
to our system, meant to weaken the US. Again, I am a bit skeptical
about the magnitude of the claim in the clip. I do think, though, that
there will be a day which everything will change overnight. True or
not, there is a foreshadowing here that is difficult not to believe.
Do WE hear YOU? YOu must have been doing the listening and just didn't know it. Were you with Bush when he was warning Congress to shore up it's fiscal responsibilities? On his Fannie Mae warnings to Congress? Nope....

Who could have seen this coming?

The US government buying or taking stake in private companies?

My comment from same clip:
There are some, and I am one, that are suggesting that the US currency
is being devalued intentionally for just this sort of purpose. It is my
opinion that it will allow more Federal control and manipulation of the
markets which was partially responsible for the depression of the
1930s. Also, I think it will further strengthen the road we are on to
Corporate Totalitarianism and steel-cased oligopoly.

Oh for God's sake wilhelm, it was just a play on the cell-phone adds, the original clip was "if a dollar drops, does anyone hear it", the "can you hear me now" was not literally "me" it was a personification of the dollar!

You seriously need to get over yourself, if you keep patting yourself on the back so much, you might break your arm.

LOL. I wasn't actually patting myself on the back. Just stating reality. Anyway, if what you say is true, the why did you not title the clip, "Can You Hear IT Now?" I know, I know...that narcissism just creeps in when you least expect it.

Ugh! It has nothing to do with ego, it's from a sprint(?) ad, and the ad does not state "can you hear IT now" it says "can you hear me now". Have you never heard of the ad? Can you grasp that?

Anyway, I don't care, this is a really stupid arguement/discussion, so "whatever".

Well, excuse me, I didn't go to the source article... I didn't know there was any reference to a Sprint ad. tsk, tsk ..Sign of true narcissist...believing all your quips and references should be instantly grasped by all. Oh well, live and learn, I always say. BTW, I hate the commercial.
