l1wulf says: Uh, whoa. interesting this is 'the' clip! wonderful... On the surface I am intrigued by this, the logical side of me however sees this: As Sting so aptly said" "Never seen a miracle of science That didn't go from a blessing to a curse. Never seen a military solution didn't always up up as something worse." And here my friends, is what governments (as in all) would do with such a technology: Interogate and torture you leaving no physical marks, and then erase all memory of such a horrible event ever happening. You can take it from there... so i'm wondering what kind of traumatic events rats have going on. I'd like that please. I'm popping this because one needs to be aware of what the latest "miracle" science has wrought for our own "good", but mainly I'm popping this for the comment by Napster and those most apropos words by Sting. I could write on and on regarding my views regarding the "wonders" of science, but for now suffice to say: what good will it be for humanity and all other species if science provides cures for almost every known ailment and perceived mental condition for us to end up as "healthy. well-adjusted unfeeling ciphers" What really scares me is that already some reading this will fail to understand what I'm trying to say. In other words .... some are already "well-adjusted" Imagine the lawsuits arising out of this failing on humans. Optimistically, tho, reminds me of Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. Without remembering adversity tho, I'm not sure how fit some of us would be to take on new challenges. My traumas have led me to become who I am today, positive and proud, and erasing all those memories (certainly, there are some I could do without) would be like ripping out chunks of the book of me. |
