All because the government thinks its a good idea to turn corn into a fuel.

Drill for oil in the US.

I'm not sure this was the 'governments' idea. I think they bowed to the Greens and a particular farming community.
I don't recall any conservatives going for this... We've created more of a mess because we won't go for the things that actually bring results....We don't want to cross the environmentalists who believe that every option is hazardess to the Earth.

This is all so disturbing. Greens are idiots. Sorry to put it that way, but it is just simply the truth. They never demonstrate the ability think or understand a single issue. Their ignorance is dangerous.

This seems odd to me. If the price of corn is expected to reach an all time high why wouldn't a farmer want to plant the crop to reap the rewards of an ever increasing market share? Or is this another one of them secret government deals where farmers are paid to not grow crops?

I find it hard to believe that any thinking enterprising farmer would not want to produce as much product as he could while the price was high.

Seems logical, but in a world that now seems intent on burning the very bottom of it's food chain, it doesn't fit. When you realize everything corn is used for, including feeding our entire agriculture industry, you begin to realize the folly of it all, not even to mention the environmental redundancy of it.

Right... we have a shortage of corn while farmers are being paid NOT to farm ... perhaps the prices are going up from the anticipation for more corn demand, not because there is a shortage?

Besides, algae has already been shown to grow more readily and provide more efficiency than corn - as well as switchgrass.

The whole corn issue is nothing more than fear promoting hype. Every farmer I've talked to laughed at the idea of people starving.

We in America are certainly well fed whether by corn or some other food source because statistically we are certainly not starving. Perhaps a little corn starvation in our otherwise over eating diets could not only help the economy but also our over obesity.

Just food for thought

I don't think its corn that is thickening thighs, bulging waists, or building on fat.
