Some people think that Bush having named the IRGC as a terrorist organization is just a way of assuaging the hawks in the administration, but does not indicate any particular action is being planned against Iran. Others believe that this is an ill-conceived, reactionary action by Bush that now enables his reasoning for attacking Iran. I happen to personally believe the latter is true, but I hope I am wrong.

The New York Times is amateurish.

Iran needs a good swat. We need to send them truly back to the 15th century. In truth, they will be much more happy with no air force, no arms, no oil production, no electricity, no international commerce. They can bugger they sheep and mutilate their women to their heart's content. We can accomplish all this in a couple of weeks.
