Thorne says: What will they think of next?? I mean really... these are the same folks that imposed violence and mature content ratings for video games... aren't they?? But this is okay, because the quarry in this game are given a choice. Join the "Force" or die as a member of the anti-christ's army. *Sorry, didn't clip this at the source. Too tired of this kind of stuff to follow the link. So we have a crack at one violent Christian video game and leave the millions and millions of non-religious violent games alone? ok... good on you. "Millions and millions"? Heh. The fact is, Left Behind: Eternal Forces is based on probably the single most lucrative religious book franchise in publishing history. It's not just another game. The Left Behind series has has something like twenty-four volumes, has spawned at least two spinoff series, comic books, a children's series, and movie and TV specials. seano77, what part of these are the same folks that imposed violence and mature content ratings for video games... aren't they? Didn't you understand?? I in fact agree with the rating system of video games as a guide. What I find amazing about this game is that that many of the same folks who helped bring about the rating system because of "gratuituos violence" such as shooting cops and running over prostitutes, are now buying this game for their teens, which encourages them to join the "army of the righteous" and kill anyone who is not part of this army. The people walking down the streets unarmed are "servent's of the anti-christ", "a leader who promises to bring peace and order to t... I didn't say I condoned the video game, just why this game and not all the others? Okay. I'll try again. 1st, I agree with the rating system for violent and sexual/ adult themed video games. I as a parent, would need to monitor their use by my child. What I am asking in this clip; what I don't understand- is the christian parents that encourage this game, buy it for their kids. The contradiction that violence is okay as long as it's in this post-apolyptic "holy war". It's not okay to stomp a defenseless streetwalker to death (GTA), but go ahead and shoot down an unarmed woman going about her shopping. That's why. seano77: Why is is this game ok, and others not? IT doesn't matter that there are hundreds of other violent video games, if the people who are claiming they are bad for thier children will buy THIS game for them anyway. Is this game ok, because they are "righteously" killing the "servants of the anti-christ"? |
