The kibbutz has signed an agreement with the solar power division of Doral Group to help build 85 houses that sport solar panels on their roof. Each villa will have one kilowatt production capacity, though the buyers may upgrade to produce more. It will take about 20 years to actually make any money on selling power, estimates Doral CEO Alon Kassel. But there's a principle at stake.
