I think the general idea is an USA American one: We're a people with many varied cultures, heritages and beliefs.

Obama got flack because he first invited a minister to say something and folks said this guy was an anti-gay minister.

But Obama would like to do some of both. He'd like to have a plan approved by 80% of Congress rather than just 51%.

It's a more reasonable way of thinking. Fore example, personally, I'm not all "liberal," (whatever folks think that means) and I'm not all "conservative," (whatever folks think that means). I'm a bit of both.

We need to have a tolerance for other people's thinking and I think that's the point Obama is trying to make.

It would be nice to stop trying to shove our ways of thinking down other people's throats or insisting they live according to our way of thinking.

Of course there are times when this is exactly the problem - such as the current 'gay issue,' of Proposition Eight in California in the recent elections.

So, indeed there are battle about this at time but it's cool to invite all to participate in this inaguration, let many sides share the stage, invite everybody to the dance without them having to first agree with you about everything.

Of course, he didn't invite any Druids to give an invocation or prayer. No Shamans. No Wickens. No Buddhist. No Hindus. No nature worshipers.

(I don't even know if he's invited any Muslims or Jews?)
