The worst thing is, this war served only to strenghten the radical Islamism in the region - which brought us at least 20 years back. And the bill is very heavy: 1300 deaths, thousands of injured, hundred thousands of homeless, and 8 bn. dollars loss from both sides. Pity.

It all depends how it plays out. Everything invictus stated is certainly sad. As for proof of what Israel can force - we will see shortly. If they didn't do what they did - status quo would've remained for years. With what was done there are a few conclusions for those that watch:
1) Screwing with Israel, even on a minimum level, might have some very unwanted consequences, not at all tat-for-tat

As long as we are unwilling to learn from this event it will

Hezbollah starts to weaken they will again attack Israel.

Considering 250 rockets dumped on Israel yesterday right before the end of cease-fire - I highly doubt it. hezbollah lost 25% of their people, allegedly, and I'm sure they lost a good deal of infrastructure/weaponry. The big question now is what this magical UN force will do when they get there - that'll be the main point. If hezbollah tries some crap again - they certainly won't look good politically to the world... although that might not be anything they'd worry about. I think many eyes will now be on syria and iran and if they'll continue to rearm hezbollah or let the Lebanese disarm them. For hezbollah to keep PR i...
