kmcolo says: "It has proved that Israel cannot force peace through military means" The worst thing is, this war served only to strenghten the radical Islamism in the region - which brought us at least 20 years back. And the bill is very heavy: 1300 deaths, thousands of injured, hundred thousands of homeless, and 8 bn. dollars loss from both sides. Pity. It all depends how it plays out. Everything invictus stated is certainly sad. As for proof of what Israel can force - we will see shortly. If they didn't do what they did - status quo would've remained for years. The big question now is what this magical UN force will do when they get there - that'll be the main point. If hezbollah tries some crap again - they certainly won't look good politically to the world... although that might not be anything they'd worry about. I think many eyes will now be on syria and iran and if they'll continue to rearm hezbollah or let the Lebanese disarm them. For hezbollah to keep PR i... |
