Too many have "put down" the UN and what it does. Basically it also gets in the way of bad leaders and corporations. A battle weary country is an easy target for those after the natural resources. The UN would want stop that.
Countries with bad human rights records don't really like the UN because it keeps recording each of their major transgressions for posterity and makes them visible to the rest of the world.
