The runts / poor doers will drown in 4-6" without places to rest in the corners of the tank.  Ultimately, we found that siliconing<BR />vexar plastic mesh on sides and back of a tank to just above water line and to down below gravel worked perfect.  They love to hang from this black diamond shaped plastic mesh.  Use aquarium<BR /><DIV>safe silicone, of course.  Also, we built our own ramps and platforms with deep cuts in the ramp to ensure a good footing, even with algae.
