It is in its begging stages in the west, Google, Yahoo, Myspace and Youtube among others spring instantly to mind they havent yet made the switch to outright censorship but they are well known for burying videos and websites whereas Youtube (owned by Google as is Yahoo) will outright delete stuff.

For a safe unfiltered search enigne that doesn't monitor you web habits use "Scroogle.org"

Thanks for the advise... I am sure we are all monitored and censored in some way or another, we are slaves kept in jail by an invisible technology and this is true and no exageration.

I don't like the proliferation of cameras on each corner of the streets. Every technology is misused before it is put to its better use, like nuclear power.
