Time for introspection - to take a stand, see through glib-talking execs in their pinstripes with fancy designations from 'glamorous' corporations...with the single-minded devotion to do just one thing...TAKE YOUR MONEY AND RUN!

I say the speculation industry just like the gambling industry be taxed on their profits. The gambling industry gets taxed so that (on top of other things) we can rehabilitate the poor gambling addict. Well, now we see the pitfalls of capitalism, everybody knows stocks are a gamble and that the financial Estates have been gambling with stocks, bond, short sales, mortgages and special interests. I say from now on make them pay for future rainy days.............

The world stockmarkets have bounced back. The US government has covered the banks' bad debts with taxpayers' money. My arithmetic suggests they have forked out as much in three days as the whole cost of the Iraq war. It is odd they could not use the money of the taxpayer to address the financial crises facing the working people who pay the taxes but chose rather to shore up a system of 'free enterprise', reward the spivs and sharks who caused the mess. There will be many happy brokers this weekend celebrating the prospect of their bonuses being restored.

The 'system' is working as designed : reward the rich and powerful and rip off the serfs.

There's no difference between an economy in which the state owns the means of production and one in which the means of production own the state.
