debbyski says: "Communication begins as soon as a baby is born. The way you touch, hold, look at and talk to babies help them learn your language, and the different ways babies cry help you learn their language. The American Speech-Language-Hearing Association urges parents to reinforce communication efforts by looking at the baby and imitating vocalizations, laughter and facial expressions." I remember the first book i read to my daughter when she was a baby. It was one of plastic/foam Disney one...Bella and the Teapot? If i thought about it, i could probably still recite it! I used to lay down beside her and hold it up above us so she could easily see. I still remember it so clearly.....she loved it! Both my kids love reading now. |
