Unable to change their habits even tho the gas prices continued to climb. And now the powers (That Be), have figured out that they can tax anything (ANYTHING) that is part of an addiction. Rather than change, we will pay it. When people quit smoking and the funding dries up they will tax BEER. Then all hell is going to come unglued. Soda/Pop, Potato Chips, Pastries (The Pastry Tax), Tea & Coffee (Hey, Boston~You Lost), How about...Cell phone tax, Necessity tax, Horizontal Burial Tax or an Unemployment Tax? What sims game instructs you to create new tax... At what point will the American people stand up and say "We've had enough!"?Some of them are saying it now, Skwirl. But do the Powers that Be have ears for that sort of thing? If they are elected, they should. However, how much damage can be done before they are voted out?! I just got my monthly bills - I have no loans or credit cards The world has gone mad! Not that many people will quit smoking if they raise the tax. They'll quit buying something else and there will be more crime, smuggling and black-market cigarettes. I guess the cigarette companies will be moving out of America soon. Thats more jobs lost. I know I can't afford to smoke now. Soon the soda bottlers will be packing up along side the brewers. |
