Excellent application of passive solar. Some of the drawbacks of course include clouds, extended periods of clouds/darkness and rain/snow. On perfectly sunny days it would work quite well. Unfortunately you cannot turn the weather on and off like a switch. We already have this. Its called windows! Would be handy in my basement though. But windows are such an old technology. We need to make more stuff and consume more energy while shedding light into the darkness... or just sleep more. technology progress is on the move .... it is good, though definably there would be a price to pay but less dependent we are on oil supply better it is for all excellent idea : ) course include clouds, extended periods of clouds/darknessyes, but that i think that can be solved, by focusing & amplicating (using the disk) and by storing the sunlight to another light source ? |
