Following the passage of Proposition 8, many of the people who donated money to help its passage now feel increasingly uncomfortable about having that financial support publicly known. Some have even filed a lawsuit to block their campaign finance records from public view.

Now somebody has done a mash-up of Google Maps with the Prop. 8 donor list; the result is EightMaps.

This clip is from a comment by a woman who grew up Muslim in Sarajevo. She knows something about what can happen when this kind of disdain for one's fellow citizens and refusal to recognize them as equals is allowed to fester and grow in the darkness of secrecy.

Why? Aren't they proud of squashing the civil rights of others?

They say they're worried about being targeted for boycotts and harassment.

Gee, I wonder why they would worry about that?
