With so many animals on the brink of extinction, this illegal trade is simply unacceptable! It angers me to no extent to read about atrocities like this. Grrrr!

The way people see something as being more valuable as it becomes harder to obtain, has been the reason many of the species that were endangered have been and will be pushed over the edge to extinction. Sometimes the reason can be to prove to others that wealth can give someone the power to get something that is impossible for the average person to obtain, or even consider for a number of reasons. There is there is the notion among some wealthy (Who have the means to allow it to become a reality), that it is better to have a showcase of things that are valuable through rarity, than it is to have value for life of any kind, and be vain enough to prove it. What a nightmare for the poor creatures. I'm so upset over this that I can barely compose a comment that is fit to print. I appreciate pokkets' insightful comment and can only add now that the lack of empathy and conscience displayed by the fiends who committed this atrocity puts them among the worst psychopaths that I know of.
