jatfla says: So the false 'messiah' wants to decree what God (whether Jesus, Allah, or Yahweh) has forbidden. If this man is elected President, his mantra of "Change" will bring about the complete bankruptcy and demise of America and all it's stood for for over 200 yrs. Obama is pledging equal rights in a secular nation. What God has forbidden is not the law of the land. I bet Obama is also against god's approval of slavery. That SOB! Genesis chapter 17, verse 12 (God understands that people buy other people and, quite obviously, is comfortable with the concept) Exodus chapter 12 verse 43 (God again shows that he is completely comfortable with the concept of slavery) Exodus Chapter 21, verse 1 (God shows that it is completely acceptable to separate slaves from their families and also shows that he completely endorses the branding of slaves through mutilation) Exodus Chapter 21, verse 20 (completely comfortable with the concept of beating your slaves, as long as you don't kill them) Exodus Chapter 21, verse 32 (God places a value on slaves) Leviticus Chapter... A lot of people don't care what decrees imaginary friends made thousands of years ago. I'm a registered righty (but I'm more of an independent) and I could give a crap if two men or two women want to get together and loose half of their stuff when they split like the rest of us. I don't care for the Democratic Demigod Obama but this should so not be an issue. It doesn't have a damn thing to do with anything. And these attitudes, in my opinion, explain the Decline of our culture, our family stability, our institutions of education, justice, religion, and the erosion of personal responsibility. The United States is in a free-fall decline and has been for the last 40 yrs. and that has nothing to do with the current Administration. Concerning the verses and exposition of those Scriptures...there is a lot more to the total context than just a phrase or two. Actually I a have very strong family values, work ethics, views on justice, as well as the desire for more people to take personal responsibility (which is exactly the opposite of what most Dems want, hardly anyone in this country believes in the right to fail anymore) and I am very aware of the total context of the Bible. I was raised with it, have read it cover to cover many times and participated in christianity for over 25 years. However when I examined religion (not just christianity but all religion) with an objective mind I found that as with most religions it contains many good philosophies but is also contains many philosophies that were just used to control or cast out groups of pe... Sadly, that is a complete distortion; but not an uncommon one. Sadly too many people in this day and age are unable to think objectively and can only follow what they have been told to follow. Its not uncommon because it actually makes sense. If god wants to get involved in politics let him show up in a hail of fire and brimstone and run for the position like everyone else. If god wants to get involved in politics let him show up in a hail of fire and brimstone and run for the position like everyone else.I'll pay to see that! Hell, I'll even vote for him then If god wants to get involved in politics let him show up in a hail of fire and brimstone and run for the position like everyone else. The pagans will put up a woman candidate. Anyone up for President Athena? If God and Athena both show up then I'm voting for whoever wants to make the government smaller and less intrusive. Unless Athena is just completely smokin hot and wears those loose draped clothes (RAWR!) then she's got my vote And these attitudes, in my opinion, explain the Decline of our culture, our family stability, our institutions of education, justice, religion, and the erosion of personal responsibility.I agree. This country has peaked and the free fall has begun. The union of a gay couple is not and should not be equivilent to the union between a man and a woman. To have the government put their stamp of approval on the issue still would not make it right. Right is right and wrong will always be wrong regardless. Maybe next we will be facing the ACLU & NAMBLA demanding their right to marry nine year old boys....Im sure some now would have no objection to that. ... federal Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA), which defines marriage as being between one man and one womanDOMA does not define marriage. Marriage is what it is... the indivisible union of one man and one women. All DOMA does is recognize this fact into the law. That said, I support Obama's desire to see equality for same-sex unions as outlined by the legal benefits to those in marriages and so do most of those in Washington. This issue could have been settled years ago. However, legal equality of relationship is not the issue. The issue for the radical left is to attempt to make marriage something less than what it is. There is no discrimination in the law regarding marriage. M... |
