There's too much stuff out there for any one person to care about, hence why the human race is billions of people, that weight can be distributed accordingly, with many sub-niches and "vertical interests" finding healthy markets even today, thanks to being connected via the Internet and being able to cut to what you really want with search engines.

Remember the Virtual Louvre on the World Wide Web in '95 and a time before Google?
