"Any Democrat who makes it to the White House can expect the same treatment: an unending procession of wild charges and fake scandals, dutifully given credence by major media organizations that somehow can’t bring themselves to declare the accusations unequivocally false."

I don't think Obama is going to be good for the country. I think we need a seasoned President who can lead us out of this cluster fuck Bush has created and I don't believe Obama can do it. Why Edwards has not gotten any further is beyond me, but my choice would have been Al Gore. I see McCain making mincemeat of Obama in the debates, and lying through his teeth to accomplish his goals. Of course, I could be wrong, (I was wrong once, hahahaha)
but time will tell the tale.

Put a 72 year old man next to a good looking 46 year old man in a TV society and see who wins the debates. Unfortuantely words do not carry as much weight as appearance these days. Even in a contest of words Obama should not be easily written off.

Both Edwards and Hillary will lack a critical part of the puzzle of winning the election because neither of them can contest the Republicans on the Iraq War. They both signed off on giving Bush unfettered means to go to war. How will that stack up in a debate?

I think McCain will come off looking tough and Obama will come off looking wishy-washy at best. True, charisma is what sells, but our society is racist. Just wait until they play the "muslim" card on Obama. It won't be much longer Bobby. I hate to be so jaded and I hope you are right BTW.

The muslim card is already out there and is been shown to be a lie. What will matter is how quickly candidates reply to lies. In 2004 the Kerry campaign waited to respond to the swiftboaters. Kerry's campaign manager commented that the conventional wisdom was that you don't respond to spurious lies because you only serve to elevate them. Will society is not static and things do change. Today you have to be there on day one to refute the lies.

Hillary already tried the wishy-washy routine and it didn't stick. If anything Hillary is the wishy-washy one, "I wouldn't have voted for the war if I knew then what I know now". Please, no one is believing that line.

In the South Carolina debate you ...

I want a Democrat elected, and I think that if Hillary is the candidate, she and Bill will be hammered as much if not more than Obama. I just don't want to go through the old Repub vs Clinton bullcrap again. Once was enough!

It all boils down to electability. I live in Florida and will be voting in the Democratic Primary in a few hours. I will vote for Obama, but Hillary is going to get it. I know that the Democratic National Committee has striped Florida of its delegates, but that might change, and it will be a signal sent toward super Tuesday. I got my fingers crossed that Mitt Romney beats out McCain!.... they are neck and neck right now. Super Tuesday should be interesting, and it will give us all a better idea of the candidate we will be voting for. We should know for sure by the middle of this month, unless it turns out to be a "squeaker", and the "Super-Delegates" get to do their wheeling and dealing! Stay tuned!

Race will be a major issue, if one remembers GW played the race card against McCain during the SC primary a few years ago. McCain is probably already doing a study on Nazi propaganda, tell a lie long enough it becomes truth, it has worked quite well for GW, Dead-eye Dick, and Field Marshall Von Rumsfield before he was sacrificed for the better of the Klan, sorry I meant clan

Of the top four candidates for the presidency there is the potential for racism, sexism, age discrimination, and religious intolerance. Therefore I think the field is even in this regard. No one candidate can simply be eliminated for consideration..........except for being republican.

See you Super Tuesday and beyond.
