Kore7 says: White House spokesman Tony Snow said Bush stood by his belief about a mother and father but also believes that "every human life is sacred and that every child that comes into this world deserves love and he believes that Mary Cheney's child will in fact have loving parents." Texas Governor George W. Bush, 1999: I am opposed to gay adoptions.[1]The White House, now: This is what we got out of the White House when we asked, over and over, if the President, as he declared in 1999, still opposed same sex couples adopting children. Our intrepid White House off-air reporter, Karen Travers, asked if that position still stood. So, you have shown that the White House is against gay couples adopting children. Now show us where the White House has come out against lesbian pregnancies. Being against gay adoptions means being against Mary Cheney's partner from adopting the child and having any legal standing. The distinction between being against "lesbian pregnancies" and being against "gay adoption" is trivial and inconsequential. JK is right. GW is a phony. Tony Snow was unlistenable as a talk show host, and a toady as WHS. |
