Geez, Invictus, You got any good news? I read an article on how much water wasted on watering lawns, and ways to cut down on this. The resurgence of astroturf for example. When I lived in California, my partner was horrified at how much water was used to keep patches of lawn green in an environment where everything fries to a brown crisp in the summer. The biofuel industry is also to blame for our food worries. Says some. It is causing a tortilla crisis as stated in a recent article at bbc.co.uk Soylent Green Hey skwirl, Congrats on recently surpassing 10,000 - TEN THOUSAND ! - comments. Now that is engaged. I've enjoyed reading a good many of them. Looking forward to the next 10,000. I may quit soon. Skwirlinator has about run its coarse. I was hoping to have 5000 clips before I go but alas, that may not be in the cards. Thanx for noticing. It's only 39 more clips, Skwirl. I don't want you to quit CM, though. I have had some great times with you here. Hey, I just noticed, what's this "going" thing now? You're not thinking of quitting, do you? Oh no, Skwirl!!! Skwirl/Clipmarks, Clipmarks/Skwirl - they are synonymous. They go together like tea and crumpets. You are the one most consistent, dependable, recognisable, unique personality on Clipmarks - our Skwirl who loves squirrels, dogs and planets. I can't imagine Clipmarks without you. Appalling thought - unthinkable. Without our north star, where would we be? :{ (Imagine an emoticon that gushes tears). If this sounds like emotional blackmail, that's because it is. (I think I'd better go and take my medication before I totally lose it! Well, I'm just about ready to delete all accounts of Skwirlinator on the web. If I don't there still may not be much anymore. I'm going under fast and losing my mind on the way. Skwirlinator was just my alter ego. I think we are starting to diverge. Whatever and where-ever your endeavours and life take you skwirl I wish you all the best. Don't quit clipmarks all-at-once though, taper off at the least.. I'm going under fast and losing my mind on the way. Skwirlinator was just my alter ego. I think we are starting to diverge.Oh, Skwirl. Hold on. Don't give up. Don't go away, please! I wish there was something I could say or do to help. Even if you lose it for a while, don't lose hope. ("For God has not given us the spirit of fear, but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind"). I'm hugging you tight to my heart all day today Skwirl and praying for you. You are so well liked, it would be too awful (and painful) to see you bow out. LOL, michellezm I'm not dying, Just trying to get control of my mind. BTW, maskwirl and I made up last night in a fit of glorious lovemaking. Now I am getting ready for work with 3 hrs of sleep but a big smile. She likes the front of my head better than the back of it. Invictus, sorry about hijacking your clip. I just recently d/l Soylent Green and the Omega Man as well as multiple other classics. Back when Heston died. I'm a fan of dystopian science fiction. Our world is fast becoming a dystopian science fiction. Who would have thunk it back when I was growing up in the 60's that the generations of Love, Peace and Drugs would create a world as far from their utopia as this one? Likewise, Skwirl, a "Clipmarks without Skwirlinator" idea sounds very dystopian to many of us, you should consider this. I know, I have not been a good clipper recently, as I used to be and I can spend significantly less time here, when compared to good old 2006 and the first half of 2007. But at least I know this: When I come and find comfort at Clipmarks environment, I find a bunch of veteran friends here, who has made the Clipmarks experiment a unique one. You are definitely one of them. I respect your decisions for sure. But come to think of it again and let's keep such "dystopian moves" out of here, my friend. You know, we still miss Guillaume and we don't like the idea of "missing Skwirl" too. Oops, sorry, I misjudged the crisis.. Silly me! But I'm glad you're having a good day Skwirl. I happen to believe that most of these problems have technological and information-based solutions. In fact, I believe that the Internet and things like Clipmarks are the answer here. "Appropriate Technology" is a term usually associated with tree-hugger who would prefer to let humans die off rather than sacrifice a pristine rain-forest. Me, I think it intellectually lazy to sacrifice either for the other. |
