thisnamecantbetaken says: What you think you create, energy is never lost only transformed etc. Even quantum physics seems to suggest there is some sort of karma. What exactly IS karma, if it exists at all? Divine retribution / reward of sorts, or just actions / reactions? Hmm... there's a good pdf you can download on this topic: The Absolute Law of Karma Some things are just true no matter where you find them. Job 4:8 As I have observed, those who plow evil and those who sow trouble reap it. Proverbs 11:18 The wicked man earns deceptive wages, but he who sows righteousness reaps a sure reward. Proverbs 22:8 He who sows wickedness reaps trouble, and the rod of his fury will be destroyed. 2 Corinthians 9:6 Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. Galatians 6:7 Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. Galatians 6:8 The one who sows to please his sinful nature, from that nature will reap destruction; the one who sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life. This is not true. This is not true.Thank you. bad things happen to good people jerks get the lay off he's the cool guy while the people who go around trying to save the whales and the enviornment are called radicals. people who risk their lives to bring us video and pictures of drangerous or never before seen wildlife are ignored and are generally thought to be boring. Scientist are force to make weapons of mass destruction and not allowed to decided how they'll be used and are mocked when they protest about something, like what's going on in the world today. where's karma the only instance of it is something like the catholic church with Galileo revolving sun deal. If we have to wait till were dead for karma to act then.... fine I'm ok with that. bad things happen to good peopleWhen I see something horrific happen to a child, I think to myself, this may be atonement for being an SS soldier in a former life, or Jack the Ripper. "Karma" was around long before Christians. Wiccans believe in the "Law of 3" which basically means what you do comes back to you 3 fold. I totally believe in Karma; I totally respect your right to disagree with me. Thanks for that link alanocu, that was a long, but fascinating read! My little philosophical grey cells are jumping for joy. Thanks! . Ah TN, so many excellent questions in your comment. Can one create one's own Karma; your own reward of sorts? This ailment afflicts rich and poor, the satisfied and the suffering, the contented and the miserable. Though there may be satisfactions in life, especially for the more fortunate, our lives are nevertheless marked and marred by suffering and grasping, anxiety, and self-preoccupation, bondage and exile, blindness and convention, and feelings of unworthines... perhaps most closely resembled by the Judeo-Christian ethic of "Do unto others as you would have done unto you."Logic is not a Judeo-Christian ethic. Through law of karma every one of us achieved some individual stage of consciousness. On deciding day set of my countless acts together shows what kind of fruit I am right now. If my karma is purified enough, I am ripe and capable to go on further stage; if I have too big portion of karma to “serve out” yet, I am not ripe enough… Some peop... People do reap the consequences of their choices; that's a fact. However, that is a separate issue when it comes to other *forces* effecting our lives. You can be a *good* person (is there really such a one?) and still be the object of disasters, illness, oppression, and the evil in another's heart. That's life. the only law? : Like Atracts like or karma |
